Sometimes my friends called me Tay. [ Mostly Drew, though. Not often, but it was nice to hear when it happened. ]

All right, Tay. [He doesn't think it has the same effect, but that's up to York.]

[ No shiver, but it does make him feel all warm and fuzzy instead. ]

Mmmkay. Taylor, sexy, Tay, warm and fuzzy.

So now I know which names to use when. Which one does Delta call you when you're alone?

York, most often. It's how we were introduced and how I thought of myself while I was in the project. It's the name he knows best. Now and then 'Taylor' comes up but it's usually just York.

[ Who gets a cheek nuzzle? Malcolm does. ]

So you see why that kind of shift might take time. I'll probably still call you York if I'm not thinking about it.

I just like hearing you use my name. It doesn't have to be all the time. I've been York to you for so long, it's normal.

All right then. But Taylor is for revving you up. [Just going to slide his hands along York's thighs. Very casually.] Got it.

Question is if you got me revved all the way up, would you know what to do with me.

[ And here he is, asking. Cuddled close and a little interested but not so much as to need to move just yet. ]

Oh, I'm pretty sure I have an idea of what to do with you.

Feel free to elaborate, Mr. Reed. [ York leans back enough to get a good look at him, smile playing at his lips. ]

I'm sure you've a plenty active imagination, Mr. Murray.

[ York drags his hands up into Malcolm's hair, nails teasing at his scalp and maybe, maybe he rolls his hips just a little. ]

Maybe I just wanna hear you say it.

Say it or do it, hm? [There goes his tongue over his bottom lip.]

[goddamngrenades]

Yes.

[ Tongue needs licking is what it needs. York leans in that extra bit of space to seal their mouths together, slow and smoldering. ]

[And that is indeed a nice kiss, but Malcolm sets a hand on York's chest, a light push when they part to keep him from going back in for another.] Okay.

[goddamngrenades]

[ The hand has him going from relaxed and interested to mildly concerned in a heartbeat. He drops his hands to the back of the sofa (not mal's hair, not his shoulders) an leans away, lifting up enough so that he's not on his lap anymore. Very carefully not touching him in the slightest. ]

We good?

Yeah. Yeah, we're good. I just think we're done with the--escalation for tonight.

[goddamngrenades]

Okay.

[ With that he moves out of Malcolm's space entirely, sliding off his lap and settling down an arm's length away on the sofa, plucking up a bottle of beer to drink like they hadn't just been making out in each other's laps. ]

[Well god, he didn't mean 'please the the hell away from me'. They...absolutely need to work on communication. He needs to. He needs to make sure he's communicating and he didn't just offend York or anything, did he?]

Should I clean up here? [Is it over? Usually dates being over meant sex, but since he doesn't want that to be the case here...]

Are you tired? [ He stretches a hand out to pet at Malcolm's hair. That's okay, right? ]

We're fine, boo. Really. I just figured you'd want a little space, you know?
