That's what we were doing. Well. You were doing. [He sits up a little straighter, hands down to York's thighs for balance.] You want me to be a more active participant instead of being shy and petrified.

[ He's happy with how this has gone, really. No feelings have been hurt, they've learned a little more about each other, there was some kissing. He's content. ]

No pressure.

[He doesn't look very convinced, but he'll get off of York's lap and back to being right beside him. With a lean into him. No arm around him, but it's a lean, anyway.]

We were already cuddling. Pardon me if I have to assume you were looking for more, then.

Nothing more is going to happen until you're comfortable with cuddling. Which you aren't. And that's fine.

[ He shrugs and tips his head over, resting it against Malcolm's hair. He's fine with this. He meant it when he said if it was the dude physical interaction thing that Mal wanted no part of, he'd do without.

He's done it before, really. ]

I'm fully comfortable with cuddling. We've done it before and have been doing it tonight. Cuddling is not at all strange.

Platonic cuddling. The moment lips get involved you lock up. I know I'm a locksmith but I kinda don't want to have to pick at you to get you to relax. If you're not comfortable, it's okay. Just say so.

Nevermind. Nevermind, this is a disaster, I'm terrible at this. I don't see how I can possibly make you happy when I'm this.

[ Chin, meet hand. Mouth? Meet mouth. Unlike the rest this is- well it's not chaste at all. It's heated and as intense as he can make it without prying Malcolm's mouth open with his tongue. ]

[That--that was--that's unexpected. Talking about how terribly this 'date' is going did not scream 'really kiss this time' to him, but hey, that's how York is rolling, and it's pretty...wow. Pretty nice.

Pretty he's just gonna take a moment after the surprise has worn off to slide a hand to cradle the back of York's head. This is much more passionate. It catches him off guard, and it's a little bit, well, hot. Nice, in a hot way.]

[ It screamed for a need of validation. He's used his words, they've been talking all day and this? This is proof. That he cares about Malcolm even when he's difficult. More than that- that he wants him.

He tugs him that much closer, turning to lean into the kiss, nipping at Malcolm's bottom lip before licking his way in. This is no sweet, tentative, chaste thing. This is a kiss. This is showing him how they could be. ]

[He lets him. This is him staying. This is him giving back instead of merely letting things happen to him. Not so much a fan of the nipping and licking there but hey.]

[ He pulls back a little when there's not much reciprocation via licking and nibbling, taking a different tack. Keeps it slow and thorough, hands working over Malcolm's back, teasing at the nape of his neck. ]

[There need not be licking and nibbling on his lips to have some thorough, hot kissing, though. Malcolm's much less tentative about the whole thing now that they're in it. Excuse you, sir, who said you could pull back? Definitely pulled back in, thanks.]

[ Now that's a good sign. A fucking great sign. He leans back in and pulls Mal close- at this point the only way to get closer while getting on with it would to be either drag malcolm into his lap (ha) or to crawl into Malcolms.

Why not.

He swings a leg over and braces himself against the back of the sofa, up on his knees enough to not be crushing him, leaning down to get more of Malcolm's mouth. ]

[Oh. Well then. At least it's not getting manhandled unexpectedly. Does mean he has to lean his head back so York can keep at him.]

[ Leaning down is easier now, working along until he has to pull back and stare at him, lips all red and bruised and breathing hard. ]

You're worth it, okay? Even when you're frustrating. It's okay. I said I loved you and I mean it, and that means even the rough stuff.

[What, why is there pulling back? The words make him lick his lips, glance away. Worth it? He's never really thought of himself as being worth all that much outside of his job description. Sure, love means putting up with the bullshit, but...let's face it, Malcolm's got a lot of bullshit.]

I'll try to believe that.

Malcolm- [ He nudges Mal's face back, leans in for another slow kiss. ] I mean it. I really do. You don't have to hide, okay?

You duck away. When things get heavy.

Like I said, I'll try to believe that.

Just a little. It's not quite as sad as the chin thing.

[ He leans down just enough to kiss Malcolm's chin, even if the chin thing isn't happening. ]

That's all I ask.

I'll have to ask someone else if I really do something with my chin; I've never heard that before you.

It's this little crumple that happens when you're really sad. You did it after the first time I kissed you.
